Son of William BIGMORE and Eliza Frances nee BUREELL, 1 French Street, Geelong West, Victoria
Alfred proceeded to France in Februay 1917 and was wounded in action 27 May 1918 (Gassed) and was transferred and admitted to various hospitals. He rejoined his unit 25 July 1918.
Returned to Australia 07 August 1919 per 'Themistocles' and discharged 03 October 1919
