His older brother, 2128 Pte. Julius Victor Moore 44th Battalion AIF, enlisted the same day, sequential regimental numbers, was killed in action at Messines 3 months later, 8 June 1917, age 30.

Two other brothers also served 9336 Dvr Raymond Lewis Moore A.S.C. RTA September 1919, also 6060 Pte Alfred George Moore 16th Battalion AIF, RTA July 1919.
