Thomas Edward Davies, born 1897 in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. Thomas grew up in his hometown of Adelaide where he became a senior cadet for 4 years, this helped him find a path into the military in the future years. As a youth Thomas worked as labourer.
Thomas enlisted in the war on 9th June 1915 at the age of 18. His elder sister Mrs Edith Jenkins was his nominated next of kin.
He embarked from Adelaide on the HMAC A15 Star of England on the 19th of September 1915. Thomas was enlisted into the 10th Infantry Battalion. During his time at war, Thomas was admitted to the hospital sick on the 1st of October 1916 and rejoined the battalion on the 3rd of October 1916,
Thomas was reported missing 2nd April 1917 but was later found to be a Prisoner of war at Friedrichsfeld, Germany, Prisoner of war camp.
After the war at Bethnal Greeen at the age of 21, Thomas married Mary Ann Elizabeth Norton on the 12th of January 1919. The couple were repatriated back to Australia 13th of July 1919.
