The Minmi Roll of Honour has 79 names inscribed of those who returned home from The Great War.
The 7th name inscribed is Private Peter Andrew Harrower.
On the 25th May 1952, Private Peter Andrew Harrower, 2nd Battalion (Reg No-1563), miner from Back Creek, Minmi, New South Wales and 17 Henson Avenue, Mayfield East, N.S.W. (1923) and 69 Rawson Street, Aberdare, N.S.W., father of one (Len), died at 69 Rawson Street, Aberdare, N.S.W., age 59 years 10 months.
Ashes interred Newcastle Memorial Park, N.S.W., date unknown.
Born at Minmi, New South Wales on the 19th July 1892 as Andrew to Andrew and Charlotte Harrower; husband of Eva Maude Harrower nee Wallbridge, married 1922, Waratah, N.S.W., died 24.7.1963, Aberdare, N.S.W., age 63, ashes interred Newcastle Memorial Park, N.S.W.
Peter enlisted on the 3rd December 1914, age 22 years 5 months, at Liverpool, N.S.W.
Unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board HMAT A49 Seang Choon on the 11th February 1915.
Wounded in action - 14.5.1915 (GSW finger, Gallipoli), 22.9.1917 (GSW chest).
Peter arrived home on the 13th February 1918, probably invalided, being discharged on the 26th March 1918.
Received all 3 War Medals.
Peter’s name has also been inscribed on the Minmi St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church Roll of Honour.
I will place poppies at Ralph’s gravesite in remembrance of his service and sacrifice for God, King & Country.
