James Alma Dixon was born in Fremantle West Australia in 1887 . 

On enlistment to AIF in March 1916 to 28th Battalion his occupation was a Farrier and he was living at 21 Gold Street Fremantle , the home of the Bruce family . He married Elizabeth Margaret Bruce in 1916 , married when he departed Australia on 7th August 1916 .

His brothers in law Henry Bary Bruce and William Oliver Bruce enlisted before him ,were also members of the 28th Battalion and had served at Gallipoli .

 Post World War 1 James lived at 15 Oxford St, Leederville ,West Australia .Bruce family history tells he had two daughters, Rhonna and Maureen and a son Bryan.

He is memorialised at Karratta Cemetery at the same grave as his wife's mother and stepfather Elizabeth Johanssen , formerly Bruce , and John Dean Johannsen
