Biography contributed by Faithe Jones

Son of Kathleen MEEHAN, Temora, NSW

The death took place in the Orange Base Hospital on Friday of Mr. Albert Horace ('Nipper') Meehan, after an illness of a day, due to heart trouble. He was a sergeant in the 7th  Light Horse and an original Anzac. The funeral took place on Saturday, moving from St. Joseph's Church to the Catholic portion of the cemetery. A polished oak coffin was covered with the Union Jack and a number of Diggers attended the funeral. After the service by the priest, the Diggers' ceremony was proceeded with and poppies were dropped in the grave by  them as a token of remembrance. Deceased is survived by one sister, Mrs. E. Brentnall, and one brother, Cyril, of Wagga. His parents and two brothers predeceased him.
