Biography contributed by Stephen Brooks

Edwin Parkinson was born in England in 1881, the son of Son of Charles John and Fanny Janet Louisa Parkinson, of Blackheath, London, England. It is not known when he came to Australia but he married a Valerie Roland in Sydney during 1912. There were two daughters born shortly after. All were awarded pensions. His wife was living in Switzerland shortly after his death and she received his personal effects and identity disc at an address in France.

Edwin’s younger brother, 1422 Pte. George McKenzie Parkinson 35th Battalion AIF, was later killed in action on 22 August 1918, aged 31.
