Brother of William John Symons who returned to Australia on 4 June 1919 having served with the 6th Field Company Engineers, Lillian Symons, Ernest Symons, Ruby Symons, Daisy Symons, Aurthur Symons, Fredrick Symons and James Symons

Served his Plumbing apprenticeship with Johnstone of Paddington, QLD

Commenced return to Australia on 4 June 1919 aboard HT Mahia disembarking on the 20 July 1919

Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal

On 14 August 1926 Herbert  married Ellen Elizabeth Palmer in QLD
