Clive Hodsoll Heath was born on the 8th of September 1885, he lived in Mitcham, South Australia with his brother John Heath and his parents.

He enlisted on the 15th of August 1917 in Adelaide. He reached France in early April 1918 and served through the last part of the war with the 10th Battalion, taking part in the battles at Hazebrouck and Amiens. He returned to Australia in August 1919 and was discharged from the AIF in October.
