Son of Carl Joseph Ziesing and Anne Nemira Ziesing nee Jenner of Port Augusta, SA.

Commenced return to Australia on 24 December 1918 aboard HT Takada dsiembarking on 6 February 1919

On 8 December 1926 George married Selma Dorothy Flehr in St Laurence Church, North Adelaide, SA

Born to Carl Joseph Ziesing and Anne Nemira Ziesing in Port Augusta as a Roman Catholic.

Educated at Christian Brothers College, Adelaide

Next of kin, Carl Joseph (CJ) Ziesing.

Worked as an Articled Law Clerk before military.

WW1 service

21st March, 1917 joined the AIF and was placed into 10th Infantry Divison, and ranked as a Private.

24th April 1917 commenced training at Mitcham camp 

23rd June 1917 embarked from Adelaide 

25th August 1917 disembarked at Plymouth

2nd November 1917 Taken on strength with Australian Army Medical Corps.

28th November 1917 proceeded overseas to France

9th December 1917 Transfered to 4th Field Ambulance.

25th August 1918 injured, sent to 41st Casualty Clearing Station due to being gassed. Injury initially classified as mild.

26th August 1918 admitted to No11 Stationary Hospital in Rouen

28th August 1918 moved to Ambulance Train 21 for transfer to England for further treatment

29th August 1918 admitted Graylingwell War Hospital in Chichester

11th September 1918 transferred to Australian Auxiliary Hospital at Dartford

28th October 1918 discharged to the No 2 Command Depot at Weymouth for convalescence

24th December 1918 returned to Australia on the ship Takada

17th January 1918 arrvied back in Australia

2nd March 1919, discharged due to being medically unfit after gassing.

George Ignatius Ziesing was awarded the 1914/15 Star, the Britsh War Medal, and the Victory medal.
