He was 22. His brother fell whilst serving with British forces. He was Lieutenant Christopher Joyce Postlethwaite of the 12th Battalion, the Suffolk Regiment.
They were sons of Doctor Frank Postlethwaite MRCS of Brentor and his wife Emma Elizabeth (née Joyce).
They are remembered on the War Memorials in North Brentor.
