Long lost great grandfather
I grew up knowing my family name came from a step-great-grandfather but not knowing who the birth-great-grandfather was. Recently my father discovered Wesley Jones was the one. At the time my parents had only recently visited Beersheba on holiday - it was fascinating to know my fathers grandfather had fought there with the Light Horse Brigade. We now have his war diary, medals and a souvenir sword he bought whilst overseas on service. My siblings and I bought my father a print of a photograph showing the Light Horse Brigade charge at Beersheba - perhaps his long lost grandfather is one of those in that photo?
