Obituary

Chronicle 1st December 1917

Private A. J. KAIRL, third son of Mr. and Mrs. 0. J. Kairl. He was not yet 21 years of age. He was born at Laura, and learnt the trade of a blacksmith. He enlisted at the beginning of 1916, and sailed on April 18 with the 56th Battalion. He went through many fights in France and had never once been hit until 1 October 10, when he was killed.
