Died on this date – 12th February.... Private Frederick Thomas Johnson was born at Brooklyn, New South Wales, Australia according to his Attestation Papers. His birth was registered, however, in the district of Ryde, NSW in 1893. He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force (A.I.F.) on 17th January, 1916 as a 22 year old, single, Tinsmith from Balmain, Sydney, NSW.

Private Frederick Thomas Johnson embarked from Sydney on HMAT Euripides (A14) on 9th September, 1916 1st Infantry Battalion, 20th Reinforcements & disembarked at Plymouth, England on 26th October, 1916 where he was to receive further training before being sent to the War Front.

Private Johnson was transferred to Fovant, Wiltshire from No. 3 Command Depot, Wool, Dorset on 21st November, 1916. He was marched in to 1st Training Battalion at Durrington, Wiltshire on 8th December, 1916.

Private Johnson was admitted to Fargo Military Hospital, Wiltshire with Influenza on 31st January, 1917 from 1st Training Battalion, Durrington, Wiltshire.

Private Frederick Thomas Johnson died at 4.50 p.m. on 12th February, 1917 at Fargo Military Hospital from Broncho Pneumonia.

Private Frederick Thomas Johnson was buried in Durrington Cemetery, Wiltshire, England where 140 other WW1 Australian War Graves are located.
