Son of William Henry Wilkinson and 2nd wife Margaret Williams. Family lived Moonta Bay and Gawler, S.A.
He enlisted at Keswick in South Australia on 08 Jun 1915 and was attached to the 10th Infantry Battalion.
He was wounded on 23 Jul 1916 in France and evacuated to England before being sent back to Australia. Discharged with rank of Lance Corporal, on medical grounds 15 Apr 1917 in Sydney. He was married twice. No children.
