Add my storyBiography contributed by Glenunga International High School
William was born on the 31st of July 1880 in Carmunnock, Scotland.
William worked as a wheelright and carpenter for a short period of time before he moved to Lutwyche, Queensland with his family where he was able to get work as a pilot. This is where he met his beautiful wife, Mrs Sarah Young. They raised two children between them.
William worked as an air mechanic at the time he was involved in the war (he was 37 at the time). William was made to answer many questions about his family, this included when and where he was born. He had to describe what he looked like including his weight, height and vision.
A few of his facial features mentioned where his eye colour and hair colour which were both brown. The rest of the description of what he looked like was described in the photos section on his first file.
Many of his crew members sadly did die during the war for various reasons, but he was lucky to be called a survivor. In the war that's hard to be called.
