Son of Father, W McGlashan, Mildura, Victoria

Allan McGlashan was born at Lockwood, Victoria and lived in Mildura, Victoria. He served as a soldier for Australia during World War I. For an occupation, Allan was a labourer. His regimental number was 2129.

Allan was enlisted as a private to serve on the 11th of April, 1916. Then on the 25th of September 1916 at 26 years of age. He embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A9 Shropshire. His embarkation roll number was 23/55.2.

During his time at War, Allan won two medals due to his service. These were the British War Medal and the Victory Medal. It is believed that he served in France.

Allan lost his in France on Tuesday the 5th of February 1918. It is described that he died of wounds. His body is buried at the Trois Arbres Cememtery, which is located in France and his grave is in plot II, Row D, grave number 19. Allan's service is remembered and recognised at The Australian War Memorial where his named is listed on panel number 130. His unit for the Nominal Roll is listed on the '38th Battalion'.
