Thomas was the eldest son of Henry Edward Langridge and Martha Langley Ward.  Thomas had 4 sisters, Olive, Ester, Alice & Emily and a brother, Henry.

Thomas's grandparents, John Langridge / Esther Morley emigrated from Sussex, UK to Christchurch, New Zealand arriving 23 November 1858.
