Private FRANK THOMPSON, who was killed in action on September 2, 1918, was the eldest son of Mr. William Thompson, of Oaklands, Y.P. His brother, Private John Thompson, was killed in August, 1916, and his stepbrother, Private John J. Roberts, died of wounds in March, 1918. Private F. Thompson was born at Wool Bay on March 27, 1888, and was educated at the Oaklands Public School. He worked on his father's farm for many years. When war broke out he tried to enlist, but was not accepted until the fourth time, in November, 1915. He was greatly respected by a large circle of friends, and the deepest sympathy is felt for the family.
