Served during The Great War, resting at Sandgate Cemetery.
80 years ago today, on the 17th June 1941, Private Edmund Edgar (Ted) Bull, 35th Battalion (Reg No-1624), gardener and widower from Hargrave Street, Carrington, New South Wales and Merewether N.S.W. and Lindsay Street, Hamilton Park, N.S.W., father of four, was laid to rest at Sandgate Cemetery, age 68. METHODIST 1 (WESLEYAN) A NW. 52.
Born at Waratah, New South Wales on the 6th March 1873 to Edmund Edgar and Mary Jane Bull; husband of Esther E Bull nee Price (married 1893, Newcastle, N.S.W., died?), Edmund enlisted February 1916 at Newcastle, N.S.W.
Sustaining no injuries or illness during his service, Edmund returned home August 1919, being discharged on the 11th October 1919.
Mr Bull’s name has been inscribed on the Hamilton (Gregson Park) Soldiers' Memorial and the Hamilton Municipal District Roll of Honor.
I have placed poppies and a 1914-1918 WAR label at Edmund’s marked grave to honour his service, and hope that he has not been forgotten.
Lest We Forget.
