Aarons Frederick Oswald was born in Grafton, Sydney on 10th January, 1889. He lived with his family at Field Place 2580. Before enlisting, Oswald worked as a farmer.

Oswald enlisted with the AIF on August 24th, 1914 in Sydney and embarked on the ship HMAT Aenaes A60.

Following basic training, Oswald fought in Gallipoli and later in France.

Oswald was wounded in the right eye during and as a result of these wounds, was discharged and sent back to Australia.

After his service, Oswald returned to farming.

At the age of 96, on the 15th of January, 1984, Oswald died of heart failure.

  Taken on strength, 1st Field Artillery Brigade, 12 September 1914; 2nd Field Artillery Brigade, 12 November 1915.

Wounded right eye and right shoulder; blinded in the right eye 12 December 1915

Returned to Australia  28 Jan 1916.

Re-enlisted, and re-embarked 2 Oct 1916.

Taken on strength, 102nd Howitzer Battery 10 July 1917.
