Add my storyBiography contributed by Carol Foster
Son of Robert and Mary Ann Phillips of Bedford Street, Campbell Town, Tasmania.
Twin brother of Alfred Phillips who returned to Australia on 24 December 1918 having served with the 12th Battalion
General regret was expressed at Campbell Town when it became known that Private Albert Phillips (15th Battalion) had been killed in action in the Dardanelles on May 31. Private Phillips was the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Phillips, of the Campbell Town district, and was a member of a hard-working and industrious family. Mr. and Mrs. Phillips have four sons on active service in the war, one a twin brother of the deceased. Private Phillips was a young man of an amiable and genial disposition, and his friends who knew him feel sure that where any lighting was to be done he would be in the thick of it.
Medals: 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal
Also served in the 92nd Infantry for over 7 years resigning in 1912
Commemorated in St Luke's Anglican Church Cemetery, Campbell Town, Tasmania
