Herbert’s name has been inscribed on the Waratah Superior Public School Roll of Honour, Waratah Methodist Church Roll of Honour and the Waratah Park Memorial Gates (photos, unveiled on the 23rd February 1921).

There is no memorial inscription on the headstone of Herbert’s parents to tell us of the loss of their son, and I am unable to erect a Memorial cross, so I have placed poppies to honour Herbert’s supreme sacrifice during The Great War for God, King and Country.
