Elisted and served under alias Arhtur Cooper

When he enlisted he stated that he was single when he was actually married to Ellen Sankey.

In his Attestation paper on page 13 there is reference to his correct name and that he served under the name of Arthur Cooper

Next of kin originally given as Ruby McCann of 'Taringa', Adelaide Parade, Woolahra, NSW. Later changed to his sister Lily Sankey of Enmore Road, Marrickville, NSW

Commenced return to Australia on 10 March 1918 aboard HT Durham Castle. At Cape Town, South Africa he transhipped to HT Orontes on 19 April 1918 for remainder of journey to Australia where he disembarked on 12 May 1918 at Sydney
