Nicholas Walter Chapple was an Australian soldier that fought in WWI 1914 - 1918. He was born in Eden Valley South Australia. Before the war, he worked as an Orchardist. He grew up in Eden Valley with his mother. 

Chapple enlisted on 6/11/1915 and embarked on 11/4/1916. While on active service he became ill with emphysema and the decision was made to return him to Australia for medical discharge

He came back to Australia and was discharged on 6/6/1918 , and died in 12th August 1973. He now rests at Victor Harbour General Cemetry.

Nicholas Walter Chapple received the British war medal and the Victory medal for his service.
