Biography

Clarence Clifton GREEN was born in 1894 in Dubbo, New South Wales, the son of  Thomas GREEN and Rebecca SMITH. He enlisted 13th March, 1916 with the 2nd Battalion, who embarked from Sydney on HMAT Wiltshire on 22nd August, 1916. Before leaving Clarence had married Pearl CALLEN in  Dubbo. He  was killed in action on 9th April, 1917 in France and is buried in  Beaumetz Cross Roads Cemetery, Beaumetz, Picardie, France.

 

"Private Clarence Green, late of Dubbo, whose death in action in France on the 9th April has just been reported, was a nephew of Mr. W. Fahey, of this office.
