Son of William Stanley Hayes and Mary Rebbeck Hayes of Berri, SA formerly of Mildura, Victoria
On 18 May 1921 Leslie married Vera May Quinn in St. Albans Church, Berri, SA
Commenced return to Australia on 11 May 1916 aboaud HS Kanowna as wounded disembarking on the 16 June 1916
