17 Apr 1917: | Honoured Military Medal, Mouquet Farm, For courage and devotion to duty at Mouquet Farm on 3rd September, 1916, when he attended wounded under very heavy fire and in the open. He displayed admirable courage, never for a moment considering himself or his own personal safety. Again on the 4th September, 1916, it was necessary for the A.M.C. to work in the open where wounded men were passing. Men were continually hit where he was working but he never for a moment desisted from his work. |
