Son of Charles FIGGIS and Emily nee EMPTAGE, Stanley Street, South Brisbane, Queensland

EDWARD CHARLES FIGGIS, son of the late Mr. Charles Figgis and Mrs. Emily Figgis, was born at Brisbane on 16th May, 1895. He was educated at Brisbane Technical College, and entered the service of the Bank at Brisbane on 28th October, 1913.

He enlisted on 4th May, 1916, and sailed with the 4th Reinforcements of the 49th Battalion in August, 1916.

He saw service in France from December, 1916, until August, 1918, and received his promotion to the rank of corporal in June, and of sergeant in December, 1917.
