"IN MEMORIAM.
EIG — Killed in action at Gaapard, east of Messines. July 2, 1917, Pte. Frederick Charles Eig.
Somewhere in France there's a sacred spot,
'Tis a grave just newly made.
And it's sheltering our brother from perils and ills
With which life's battle is played.
He has finished his part, we must still keep on.
Trying like him to be brave.
Our sacrifice is in what we have lost.
His was in what he gave. — Inserted by his loving Sister and Brother-in-law. A. and B. Seaford, and Brother David (on active service.)" - from the Burra Record 10 Jul 1918 (nla.gov.au)
