The death of Lieutenant Alexander James Wilkes occurred at Wau Hospital, New Guinea, on April 25, after a short illness. The deceased, who was 38 years of age, was a son of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Wilkes, Wilkesdale, Tingoora. The late Lieutenant Wilkes served in the Great War. He enlisted with the 25th Battalion, A.I.F., and was later transferred to the 51st Battalion. Since the war the deceased had resided In New Guinea, where he was connected with the
Day Dawn Goldfield.
