Driver Cecil Charles Kemble Jaggar (Service No:1852) served in the AIF with 39th Infantry Battalion from 1 March 1916 to 15 March 1920. Promoted from Private to Driver in France on 17 September 1918, he embarked from England for the RTA accompanied by his wife on board HT Shropshire on 2 December 1919.

Cecil was born in 1884 in Hay NSW, third of six children on Leonard (Len) Rose Jaggar (b1858 in Canterbury, New Zealand) and Fanny Ada Kemble (b1860 in Wellington, New Zealand). Len (an Insurance Clerk) and Fanny married in 1881 in Wellington, New Zealand and lived in Brisbane QLD, Sydney NSW and Melbourne Victoria where Len was a General Manager and Attorney for Insurance Companies and was appointed a Justice of the Peace and Magistrate of the Colony.

Cecil worked in New Zealand in the early 1900s as a Mechanic and was a Farm Hand at Dromana in Victoria when he enlisted in the AIF in 1916. In 1919 in Northamptonshire, England Cecil married Hettie Mary Russell (b1892 in Northamptonshire, England) - Hettie was working as a Refreshment Room Assistant. In 1919 Hettie returned with Cecil to Melbourne  where he worked as a Labourer before they moved to Hamilton, New Zealand in 1928. Cecil worked as a Farm Hand, Labourer and Railway Worker in Hamilton NZ. Cecil died in 1954 and Hettie in 1974.
