Ben Clark was born in Williamstown, South Australia in 1871. He lived in Williamstown, South Australia while he was a Labourer. He enlisted for the war on the 7th of January 1916 aged 43. Ben Clark was a part of the 32nd battalion in the 6th reinforcement. He left Adelaide to go fight in the war on the 11th of April in 1916. While in the war he was unable to act his role as a batman (Officers servant). Due to a shear amount of pain in his chest, Ben was eventually deemed unfit for service and returned home to Australia on the 5th of December 1916, Age 43 1/2. Clark served for 1 year and 84 days while 239 of those days were abroad. He was given a British war medal for his service in the war. Ben Clark passed away on the 12th of March 1933 aged 60.
