Add my storyBiography
"Included in the list of Australians who have been awarded the Military Cross is the name of Lieutenant W. D. Kenyon. Lieutenant Kenyon is a son of Mr and Mrs Thos. Kenyon sen., Hatton-terrace, Toowoomba, and he was reported wounded in action in France last month. Lieutenant W. D. Kenyon was the brilliant five eighth Rugby Union footballer. He enlisted as a private but qualified and gained his commission before he left Queensland. He has another brother, Sergeant Arthur Kenyon, on active service, and a recent letter stated that he and his brother Sergeant A. Kenyon, who had not seen each other for some time, had suddenly met in France. They were only together a few minutes, and then went to their respective posts." - from the Brisbane Courier 20 Jun 1917 (nla.gov.au)
