Thomas's parents were James Chambers and Annie McKiver His occupation when he enlisted was a labourer. Thomas attended Mt Pleasant School and was 11th of 14 children in his family. The Chambers were a pioneering family from Mt Pleasant, Thomas's father selected land in the area in 1883. Thomas enlisted 3 August 1916 at Brisbane. He was killed in action.
