Thomas gave his next of kin as his brother Robert as both his parents were deceased at the time of him enlisting.
He embarked on 07 September 1916 for active service in France and returned to Australia 12th August 1919 and was discharged on 26 September 1919.
After the war he was proprietor of the 20 Mile Hotel on the Boulia Road for some time. He then became steward at the Winton Club and later in Barcaldine and Brisbane.
