William Herman ZIMMER was born in Geelong, Victoria in 1896

His parents were William Henry ZIMMER & Elizabeth Alice HARGREAVES

He enlisted in Geelong on 19th September, 1916 & embarked from Melbourne with the 57th Infantry Battalion(8th reinforcements) on the ship HMAT Medic on 16th December, 1916

William was Killed in Action in France on 17th June 1918 and is buried in the Ribemont Communal Cemetery, Row A, Grave 3
