Lance Corporal Frank Dillon killed in action on August 28, was a native of Oberon, but had lived in Portland for a number of years, where, prior to enlisting he was employed at the cement works.  He was a fine athletic type of young man, and was an active footballer and a member of the first grade cricket club.  His brother, Mr. Charles Dillon, is now living in Portland.

Next of kin given as his brother Charles James Dillon of Willewa Street, Portland, NSW. Chares was later killed in action on 24 April 1918 while serving with the 54th Battalion and was buried in the Aubigny British Cemetery.

Medals: 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal were issued to the step-sister Mrs. McMiniman of Kelso, NSW

He served a 5 year apprenticeship with Jason Binns of Sydney, NSW
