Add my storyBiography contributed by Stephen Brooks
Albert Edward Dudley from Newcastle NSW, was married to Clara and the father of three small children when he enlisted in 1915. He was reported to have been killed by shell fire at Pozieres on the 22 July 1916, and a photograph of his wife was taken from the body to be returned to her.
His older brother, 2143 Private Frank Dudley 28th Battalion, was killed in action only 7 days later on 29 July 1916, aged 43. Frank had enlisted in Western Australia and probably neither brother was aware of the other's proximity at Pozieres.
