Next of kin given as Mrs J.E. Wilson of  Leaver Grove, Manchester Road, Bolton, Lancashire, England.

Later changed to his wife Annie Venn nee Coulson of the War Hospital, Beckett Street, Leeds, Yorkshire. Charles and Annie married on 14 November 1916 in the Mill Street Chapel, Newport, England. Rev. David D. Joseph of the Congregational Church officiated.

Commenced return to Australia on 4 June 1919 aboard HT Bremen diembarking on 27 July 1919
