Son of Robert Rew & Elizabeth Rew Auckland New Zeland james enlisted with the 7th mounted rifles while working in Australia. His borther Jack (John Neil) was killed in Egypt in July 1916 while serving with the NZ forces. Both brothers served in Egypt with their respective units.
