Mary was the daughter of Alexander Fisher and Margaret Fisher nee Hanlon.
Mary Ellen enlisted as a Sister with the Australian Army Nursing Service on 12.6.1915 and served in France. Returned to Australia on 5.7.1919 per 'Ypiringa' and was Discharged on 5.9.1919. Medals: 1914-15 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal
