24 Jan 1919: Honoured Military Medal, The Battle of Amiens, For coolness and devotion to duty during the operations on 8 August 1918 near Morcourt, south-east of Corbie. During the second phase of the operation the 4th Pioneer Battalion came under heavy machine gun and rifle fire from the enemy on the opposite hilltop. Lance Corporal Heydon, regardless of danger, pushed forward with his Lewis gun and dispersed the enemy, enabling the wave to continue without further casualties.
