Commenced return to Australia on 23 June 1919 aboard HT Orita disembarking on the 6 August 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Adelaide

Medals: 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal

On 6 January 1921 Charles married Lily Katonia Winifred Jago at Mr Jago's residence, Terowie, SA. Father of Donald Simmons and Mavis Lily Simmons
