Son of Charles Unwin and Rachel Lauristine Unwin nee Hivon of Cardup, WA.
6 August 1917 - enlisted with the Australian Army Service Corps
3 September 1917 - discharged
16 November 1917 - re-enlisted at Perth, WA, with the WA Re-inforcments with the rank of Private.
10 October 1918 - taken on strength with the 28th Battalion
Commenced return to Australia on 3 September 1919 aboard HT Baramah disembarking on 17 Ocotber 1919
Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal
14 November 1919 - discharged at the 5th Military District as medically unfit
