"THE LATE PRIVATE E. F. GIRDHAM
Private E. F. Girdham reported killed in action on November 5, was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Girdham, Melbourne. He left with the 27th Battalion on May 31, 1915, and was in Egypt, Gallipoli, and France. After being wounded in June, 1916, he was sent to England, and had returned to his battalion only a few weeks when he made the supreme sacrifice.
