14 Nov 1916: Wounded AIF WW1, Private, 3895, 5th Field Ambulance, Gunshot wound to the left thigh (compound fracture). Invalided to England on 24 November 1916 fractured left thigh later amputated due to gas gangrene
5 Dec 1916: Honoured Military Medal, This man was stationed at Goose Alley north west of Flers on the 14th November 1916. The post was subjected to heavy shrapnel fire. Private Adams went to the assistance of a wounded man, dressed his wounds and returned to the Aid Post, procured a stretcher, and placing the wounded man upon it returned to the Aid Post. He was wounded on his way back to the Aid Post. The courage and resource shown on this occasion are characteristic of this man.
