Julia was the daughter of Patrick Finn and Norah Finn nee Joyce.
Julia enlisted as a Staff Nurse with the Australian Army Nursing Service on 1.9.1917 and embarked ib 15.9.1917 per "Argyshire". Served in Egypt and Returned to Australia per "Hungaria" on 27.7.1919. Discharged 28.8.1919. Medals: British War Medal and Victory Medal.
On 7.8.1926 Julia married Gerald Bertram Whiteford.
