Son of Edward Henry Upjohn and Matilda Frances Upjohn of 'Corsham', Albert Road, Strathfield, NSW
24 February 1916 - enlisted Sydney, NSW with the 53rd Battalion and with ther rank of Private
23 September 1916 - transferred to the 34th Battalion
6 June 1917 - wounded in action, gassed
Commenced return to Australia on 16 January 1919 aboard HT City of York
Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal
24 April 1919 - discharged at the 2nd Military District as medically unfit
During 1936c George married Anne Christina Brock in Burwood, NSW
