Lionel (Lyall) was born in Normanville to Frederick & Elizabeth Forbes nee Faulkner, he lived at Second Valley with his parents and worked as a farm labourer before enlisting on 16th March 1915.
He died in Adelaide Hospital on the 17th September 1915, 3 days after his unit the 5/27th Infantry, had embarked.
